Panagiotis Koulouvaris

Dr. Panagiotis Koulouvaris was born in Athens. He is a graduate
of the Medical School and the School of Physiotherapy of the University of Athens. He has specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology. He has further specialized at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Cornell University, New York, in Reconstructive Surgery of the Major Joints, as well as in Sports Injuries. His research activity began at Memorial Sloan Kettering and continued at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

He has worked at the Olympic Village Polyclinic, and since 2023 he has been an Associate Professor at the 1st University Orthopedic Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since 2009, he has been an International Ambassador of the Hospital for Special Surgery. He is the scientific director of the postgraduate program of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, titled “Exercise & Health,” of the Sports Excellence program, as well as of the Mobile Medical Units, which were created through the initiative and exclusive donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

He is a member of the FOCOS team in Ghana and a member of the coordinating committee of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens for “Crisis and Disaster Management”. He has served as Head of Education & Sports in the Municipality of Vouliagmeni (2000 – 2004). He was an athlete in the National Triathlon Team (1995 – 1997), and has participated in 15 Marathon Races, as well as in 8 Swimming Marathon Races. He also served as a Physician for the National Triathlon and Rowing Teams during the Olympic Games 2004 – 2008.
